Southern Praise Ministries, founded in 2006 by Murray Paul Gordon and his wife Becky , is a non-profit ministry encompassing a group of ministries that the couple work with. Murray Paul is a Christian singer, songwriter, worship leader and minister. He is employed at Cosmolab in Lewisburg and Becky is employed at Wal-Mart in Columbia, TN.

Solomon's Porch began as a worship service/ bible study led by the couple on Sunday nights in Lewisburg, TN. Aaron DeMerchant, a local pastor, felt the call to join up with the ministry of Solomon's Porch, and it is now a church start, meeting at 10:30 am and 6:30pm on Sundays. Wednesday nights begin with door-to-visits at 4:30 pm and a 6:30 pm music and prayer service.

Murray Paul is also the music leader for Servant's Heart Ministry Church in Columbia, TN. Becky is the children's Sunday School teacher at SHMC.

Murray Paul has been a Christian since the young of age of nine years old. He grew up in a Christian home, attending a local Freewill Baptist congregation. As a teen he checked out other denominations and later in his teen years fell away from the church altogether, looking for answers to his life questions in the world. At the age of thirty, after much disappointment from the world and realizing his only hope rested in Jesus, he surrendered to The Holy Spirit, and made Jesus not only his Savior, but also Lord, of His life. He met Becky, whom had become a Christian also as a youth and who had fallen away from God for many years. They both knew that He was their only hope for a happy marriage and life, and together committed to serving Him, wherever that would lead. It hasn't always been an easy road. They will readily admit to making bad decisions along the way that have made the journey a lot harder than it had to be. Its a testimony to His grace and mercy to be serving as they are and to be able to share all of this with the world.
